In my counselling practice I’ve found that anything that reduces the distress of emotional engagement is a plus. Assisting others in feeling motivated and encouraged to sit with their emotions is an ongoing challenge for counsellors. I began using emojis many years ago in my sessions with my adult clients because it was a fun ice-breaker, but I noticed it also forged insightful and complex conversations about their history with their emotions.
I was happily surprised!
Once I opened In-Power one of the first things I did was to begin the process of creating and developing my own emoji’s because I wanted them to become a staple in how I ran my business, but also the language I used with clients to help them gain power over their emotions and build better and more effective relationships with their feelings.
